Leyton Town Hall As Venue For Supreme Court

EDM number 1530 in 2003-04, proposed by Harry Cohen on 15/07/2004.

That this House invites the Lord Chancellor and others who will make the decision about the location of the forthcoming supreme court to visit and examine Leyton Town Hall as a possible site for the purpose; notes that the building is a quality one of good size and is easily accessible by public transport and other forms of transport affordable to those in the legal profession; notes that the area is up and coming and that the siting of the Supreme Court there would add to its regeneration; does not consider that a hugely expensive purpose-built building in Central London is necessary or for the best for the Supreme Court; and records that the Lord Chancellor and the others with responsibility for this matter would be welcome in Leyton should they agree to give due consideration to this sensible proposal.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
