Free Fruit For All Primary School Children

EDM number 1523 in 2003-04, proposed by Greg Pope on 15/07/2004.

That this House notes the success of the Government's School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme in providing all children aged 4 to 6 years with a free piece of fresh fruit or vegetable each school day; believes that the scheme is an important part of a strategy to promote healthy eating amongst the young; welcomes the suggestion from pupils at Peel Park Primary School in Accrington that the scheme be extended to all primary school aged children; and calls on the Department of Health to extend the scheme to children in Key Stage 2 as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
