Litter

EDM number 1439 in 2003-04, proposed by Anne McIntosh on 01/07/2004.

That this House regrets the fact that litter increased by 12 per cent. in 2003 and that chewing gum deposition on town centre streets increased by 94 per cent. in the same year; notes that the issue of fines to those who drop litter is not imposed in a uniform manner across the United Kingdom; and calls upon the Government to be tough on litter and tough on the causes of litter by immediately publishing plans to reduce litter in 2004 and uniformly imposing sanctions against those who drop litter.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
