Second Hand Tobacco Smoke In The Palace Of Westminster
EDM number 1424 in 2003-04, proposed by David Taylor on 30/06/2004.
That this House believes that the parliamentary authorities should take a lead in developing better health and safety at work policies by banning smoking throughout the Parliamentary Estate in order to protect the rights of the many hundreds of workers in the Palace of Westminster, especially those with catering, cleaning or security responsibilities, who are exposed to second-hand tobacco smoke on a daily basis; and further believes that all such workers have been let down by the existing ineffective and unenforceable voluntary code of practice on smoking in the workplace.
