That this House notes with alarm the formation by the Liberal Democrats of a Conservative Party administration of Birmingham City Council; offers sincere sympathy to the thousands of Brummies who, having voted Liberal in good faith at the recent local elections, have had their trust betrayed and their votes effectively sold to the Tories; regrets the cuts in local services that will inevitably result from the Liberals having put the Conservatives in control of Birmingham; and remind voters in forthcoming by-elections of the golden rule: you cannot trust the Liberals.
