Cheltenham International Festival Of Music

That this House welcomes the 60th Cheltenham International Festival of Music starting on 2nd July; congratulates the outgoing Artistic Director, Michael Berkeley, on raising the artistic standards and international profile of the Festival during his 10 year tenure; expresses gratitude to sponsors, led by Smiths Aerospace, Magyar Magic, the Cheltenham Festival Society and the BBC, for providing the financial support which enables the Festival to achieve its ambition; looks forward to a stimulating and varied programme of concerts which focus especially on Hungarian and British music, and feature many distinguished musicians from both the United Kingdom and abroad; and expresses the hope that under its Artistic Director Designate, Martyn Brabbins, the Festival will build on its past success and continue to be at the cutting edge of the British musical scene for many years to come.
