Upgrading The A358 In The West Country

EDM number 1387 in 2003-04, proposed by Adrian Flook on 23/06/2004.

That this House notes the decision by two major road schemes in the South West is now a matter solely for the Secretary of State for Transport to approve; further notes that a recommendation by the South West Regional Assembly was inconclusive and that the decision must now be taken purely on environmental, economic and technical grounds; believes that, on these criteria, upgrading the A358 is the most viable option to improve the region's transport infrastructure with minimal impact on the environment; and calls upon the Secretary of State to approve the A358 scheme as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
