Tax Relief On UK Film Production
EDM number 1297 in 2003-04, proposed by John Mann on 26/05/2004.
That this House welcomes provisions in the Finance Bill seeking to maintain support for a successful and sustainable British film industry through repayable tax reliefs whilst prohibiting tax avoidance vehicles deliberately designed to exploit such reliefs; and urges the Government to consider amendments to the Bill which will enable the continuation of all bona fide film financing vehicles wishing to invest in slates of British films that realise profit through worldwide distribution rights, as recommended previously by honourable Members of this House.
