That this House welcomes the award of Ãº20,000 by a tribunal in compensation for racial discrimination to nurse Rosie Purves after she was banned from taking care of a sick baby at Southampton University Hospital's NHS Trust in 1995; condemns this sort of discrimination and finds it remarkable that we have not come further in terms of equality in the 21st century; notes that financial compensation for racial discrimination can never repair the damage caused; and expects the NHS to do what it can to prevent such discrimination from happening in the future.
