Line 1, delete from 'is' to the end and add 'philosophical about the refereeing error which deprived Sunderland a place in the Division One play-offs and expects the team to learn from this experience by going on to emulate the record-breaking promotion performance of its 1998-99 team in the coming season; and believes that football would lose much of its appeal if supporters were deprived of the opportunity to shout "get your eyes checked referee".'
