Alcohol-Related Costs

EDM number 1195 in 2003-04, proposed by Iris Robinson on 13/05/2004.

That this House expresses concern that the treatment of alcohol-related illness costs ú26.8 million per year in Northern Ireland while a further ú7.5 million is spent annually on tackling alcohol-related crime; notes that these figures together exceed the ú33.2 million spent each year on all aspects of health promotion in the Province; and encourages Government to institute measures that will assist attempts to eradicate a culture of excessive and binge drinking.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
