Reducing The Voting Age To 16;amdt. Line 7:
EDM number 1139A1 in 2003-04, proposed by Hilton Dawson on 10/05/2004.
Line 7, at end, add 'but recognises that it is neither in the interests of young people nor democracy to treat newly enfranchised 16 - 18 year olds as passive voting fodder; and calls for the active participation and engagement of children and young people of all ages in the decisions which affect their lives at school, in the community and in the care system, and through better support of the UK Youth Parliament, at national level.'
This is a ammendment to 1139.
