Dare In Drug Education

EDM number 997 in 2002-03, proposed by John Mann on 02/04/2003.

That this House commends the excellent work of Drug Abuse Resistance Education in primary schools in the United Kingdom; notes that DARE now provides their drug education course in 440 schools reaching some 16,000 children per year; further notes that over 100,000 children have graduated from the course; recommends that the DARE programme is extended to cover older children in secondary schools; recognises that their charitable status means that they are reliant upon donations to operate; urges Parliamentarians to support and promote DARE projects in their area; and calls on the Government to look at funding options to develop these successes more widely.

This motion has been signed by a total of 48 MPs.
