BBC And Balance

EDM number 988 in 2002-03, proposed by Alice Mahon on 31/03/2003.

That this House is appalled at the intimidatory and yobbish behaviour displayed by the audience against Yasmin Alibhai-Brown during Thursday 27th March edition of Question Time on BBC1; notes that despite the venue being London, a multi-ethnic and diverse city, this was not obvious from those chosen to ask questions; further notes that the audience was made up of mainly pro-war groups; deplores this lack of balance; and believes that it reflects badly on the Public Broadcasting Service.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
