That this House notes the announcement on 28th February of the latest French unemployment figures for January 2003, which show that seasonally adjusted unemployment has risen by 0.7 per cent. to 2.32 million, 5.2 per cent. higher than January 2002; notes that French unemployment has now risen every month bar one since the launch of euro notes and coins on 1st January 2002; and believes that this shows that the euro is not working.
