Post Office Closures

EDM number 839 in 2002-03, proposed by Jim Cunningham on 05/03/2003.

That this House notes with concern the increasing number of local post office closures, particularly the branches of Whitley Village, Kempas and Bloomfield Road in Coventry; further notes the difficulties this will cause older people and parents who rely on their local post office for the payment of pensions and other benefits and services; and calls upon the Government to have urgent discussions with the Post Office at national level to reverse the proposed post office closures, not only in Coventry but nationwide.
