Animal Welfare In Transport

EDM number 80 in 2002-03, proposed by John Hayes on 13/11/2002.

That this House notes the widespread concern about the long-distance transportation of animals in cramped conditions; recognises the commitment of British farmers to animal welfare; notes that this important welfare issue cannot be tackled without international agreement; and calls upon the Government to work with other countries to find a proper resolution to the problem.

This motion has been signed by a total of 98 MPs.
