Prostate Cancer Awareness

EDM number 629 in 2002-03, proposed by Liam Fox on 30/01/2003.

That this House notes that prostate cancer causes around 10,000 deaths annually in the United Kingdom and believes that the number of deaths could be reduced if men knew more about the disease and sought help at an early stage; welcomes the initiative of the major prostate cancer charities and organisations in launching its Prostate Cancer Charter for Action; recognises that much more could be done by the Government to increase research when it comes to this most common form of male cancer; and calls on the Government to honour its commitment made in the NHS prostate cancer programme of 2000 to instigate a public awareness programme as soon as possible.

This motion has been signed by a total of 63 MPs.
