Zimbabwe Fund Appeal

EDM number 625 in 2002-03, proposed by Michael Ancram on 30/01/2003.

That this House welcomes the attempt by Zimbabwe Fund to assist with the relocation of the England cricket matches out of Zimbabwe; supports the Fund's aim of persuading the England Cricket Board to move the Harare game on 13th February to South Africa, show more moral support for the English cricket team, demonstrate grass roots opposition to the Mugabe regime, let ordinary Zimbabweans know that their plight is being heard about, persuade international leaders to take a more active role in ending the starvation of over seven million Zimbabweans; and notes that the target of over one million pounds would be much easier to reach if the Government made a substantial donation to the fund.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
