Statement By The General Secretary Of The Transport And General Workers Union

EDM number 617 in 2002-03, proposed by Ian Davidson on 29/01/2003.

That this House notes the letter in the Independent of 29th January from Bill Morris, General Secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union, in which he states 'joining the Eurozone during the lifetime of this Parliament would undermine the UK Government's efforts to invest for world class public services'; supports this view; and calls on the Government to focus on public services and to rule out a referendum on the euro before the next general election.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
