Mount Everest

EDM number 565 in 2002-03, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 23/01/2003.

That this House notes the 50th anniversary of the successful expedition that led Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hilary to the summit; congratulates all involved and remembers with pleasure the arrival of the news on Coronation Day and with admiration the reluctance of the first two to the top to disclose who was second.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
