Congestion Tax

EDM number 495 in 2002-03, proposed by David Davis on 13/01/2003.

That this House condemns the Mayor of London's decision to hit Londoners with a congestion tax from 17th February; notes that such a tax will hit the lowest income earners and key-workers in the capital the hardest; further notes the financial damage that such a tax will do to business interests operating in and around the congestion charging zone; and condemns the damage the tax will have on communities and voluntary groups in and around the zone.
