Funding For Cancer Services

EDM number 490 in 2002-03, proposed by Ian Gibson on 13/01/2003.

That this House welcomes the Department of Health's inquiry into spending on cancer care, including how much has been spent on new services for patients and recruitment of extra cancer specialists; congratulates CancerBACUP on its recent audit of cancer funding which found that 50 per cent. of cancer networks in England did not receive their expected allocation of funds in 2001-02; urges early publication of the Department of Health's findings so that the public can see where the money has been used; and calls on Ministers to take action to ensure that all funds specifically designated for cancer services reach cancer patients.

This motion has been signed by a total of 59 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
