Cricket In England And Wales

EDM number 396 in 2002-03, proposed by Ian Lucas on 17/12/2002.

That this House notes the dismal performance of the England cricket team in Australia; observes that cricket is played in very few state schools in England and Wales and is based on an outmoded county structure that fails to engage young people; and calls upon the England and Wales Cricket Board to set up a review to examine the present structure of the game of cricket in England and Wales and to take urgent steps to attract more young players and to develop their skills to an internationally competitive standard.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
