Excellence Challenge In Gloucester

EDM number 330 in 2002-03, proposed by Parmjit Dhanda on 10/12/2002.

That this House notes that, at present, only 28 per cent. of entrants to higher education are from disadvantaged backgrounds; believes that children with no history of higher education in their family background should have the opportunity of benefiting from higher education; and welcomes the launch of the Excellence Challenge in Gloucester, which will encourage and enable hundreds of local children from ordinary working families to become the graduates of the future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
