WEST MIDLANDS POLICE 'ALWAYS THERE' SCHEME

EDM number 256 in 2002-03, proposed by Tom Watson on 02/12/2002.

That this House congratulates the West Midlands Police Force for the success of its 'Always There' scheme to increase the attendance of its employees; notes that the scheme has led to a significant decrease in the number of staff taking sick leave; further notes that this has been achieved through the use of long-term awards, such as an additional three days banked annual leave for employees who achieve five years without sick leave; and calls on this House to encourage other public services to offer similar incentives in the workplace.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
