Reorganisation Of Plymouth University(no.2)
EDM number 245 in 2002-03, proposed by Hugo Swire on 28/11/2002.
That this House notes the recent announcement by the University of Plymouth to restructure by relocating courses at outlying colleges to the main campus; believes the decision to relocate the Arts and Humanities Department at Rolle College Exmouth would lead to redundancies, be inconvenient for existing and potential students and would seriously affect the economy of Exmouth and East Devon; and calls upon Professor Ronald Lewinsky Vice-Chancellor of the University of Plymouth to extend the period of consultation and delay any final decision until the Town Council, local Chamber of Trade and Commerce, district and county councillors and other relevant local stakeholders have been properly consulted.
This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
