Iain Hook
EDM number 218 in 2002-03, proposed by John Austin on 27/11/2002.
That this House condemns the killing of Iain Hook, a UN worker, by the Israeli army in Jenin on Friday 22nd November, and the shooting of Caoimhe Butterly; sends its sincere condolences to Mr Hook's family and friends; notes that this is yet another example of the indiscriminate use of force by the Israeli army and that proper access to medical services was once again denied; welcomes the Foreign Secretary's call for a full inquiry into these events; and calls upon Israel to adhere to international humanitarian law and to respect the sanctity of UN locations and workers.
