Card Sales At The British Red Cross
EDM number 1911 in 2002-03, proposed by Nigel Evans on 12/11/2003.
That this House notes with dismay the decision of the British Red Cross to ban the sale of any Christmas cards that are religious in nature and which they determine could offend non-Christians; further notes their ban on any nativity displays in their stores throughout the UK; welcomes the commonsense reaction of many representatives of other faiths who have termed this reaction by the British Red Cross as absurd political correctness; and calls on Sir Nicholas Young, the Chief Executive of the British Red Cross, to reverse this decision forthwith and realise that it has greatly offended many people in the UK.
