Gibraltar

EDM number 1867 in 2002-03, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 04/11/2003.

That this House congratulates the Government of Gibraltar for allowing the Aurora cruise liner to dock in Gibraltar during a medical crisis amongst the passengers; notes with alarm the draconian measure taken by the Spanish Government in closing the border for 11 hours; recognises that Spain's hostility towards Gibraltar remains as strong and irresponsible as ever; and congratulates the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in his role in ensuring that the border was re-opened.
