Arms Decommissioning

EDM number 1815 in 2002-03, proposed by David Burnside on 27/10/2003.

That this House welcomes the act of decommissioning by the Provisional IRA in October; regrets the number and types of guns and amounts of explosives have not yet been made public; and calls on the IRA and all so-called loyalist paramilitary groups to announce and carry out in a public, transparent and quantifiable manner the decommissioning of all illegally held arms and explosives by Christmas Day 2004 and commit their political front organisations such as Sinn Fein to use totally legal and democratic methods in the future.
