Treatment Of Scottish Football Fans By Easyjet
EDM number 1734 in 2002-03, proposed by David Marshall on 14/10/2003.
That this House notes with disgust, but no real surprise, the sharp practice adopted by the EasyJet Airline to exploit Scottish football fans wishing to travel to Holland to see the Euro 2004 qualifying play-off match between Holland and Scotland in Amsterdam; congratulates the Daily Record for exposing the fact that immediately prior to the draw being made it was possible to purchase a return ticket for ú60.98 including taxes yet within three hours after the draw was made the cost had risen to ú360.98, a staggering 591 per cent. increase; condemns EasyJet as a bunch of fly guys for attempting to cash in on fans' desire to attend this important game; and hopes that the fans and others will long remember this and never travel on EasyJet again. will long remember this and never travel on EasyJet again.
