EDM number 1731 in 2002-03, proposed by Jim Sheridan on 14/10/2003.
That this House congratulates the Scottish Sunday Herald in exposing the so-called dead peasants insurance scheme where employers can take out life insurance for their employees without their knowledge or consent and then cash in this policy when the employee dies; and calls on the Government to introduce legislation to outlaw this dishonest practice.
