Compensation For Electricity Customers
EDM number 1655 in 2002-03, proposed by Albert Owen on 09/09/2003.
That this House notes with concern that many Scottish Power Manweb customers waited many months for compensation for being without power during the October 2002 storms; further notes that many rural communities in North Wales have no other form of power and that the rates of compensation were inadequate; and calls on Ofgem to review the electricity industry's compensation obligations to make them easier to implement for customers and to ensure that the levels of payment relate to the losses incurred by customers.
