Bt Payphones
EDM number 1622 in 2002-03, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 17/07/2003.
That this House notes the number of BT payphones closing down in the Chorley constituency on the basis of insufficient demand; expresses outrage that a number of the payphones in question have no handsets in the booth and therefore cannot be used; recognises that such an assumption of low demand is unreasonable given the missing telephones; and calls on BT to ensure that all payphones are fully operational before any decision is taken as to whether the payphones are adequately used.
