Energy Efficiency Bill
EDM number 1614 in 2002-03, proposed by David Chaytor on 17/07/2003.
That this House supports the commitments in the recent Energy White Paper to amend building regulations to require the installation of energy efficient boilers in domestic premises, to extend the energy efficiency commitment in relation to domestic premises at twice the current level beyond 2005 and to consult on widening that provision to non-domestic premises; further supports the sympathetic view expressed by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, the honourable Member for Wentworth, regarding further reduction of VAT on energy saving materials; strongly hopes that the Government will not be deflected from implementing these measures; and so supports the Energy Efficiency Bill introduced into the House on 17th July, which requires the enactment of those very measures.
This motion has been signed by a total of 76 MPs.
