Train Services To And From Liverpool

EDM number 1600 in 2002-03, proposed by Edward O'Hara on 16/07/2003.

That this House regrets the recent withdrawal of the direct train service from Liverpool to Edinburgh; notes that this is but the latest in a gradual removal of train services to and from Liverpool; is concerned that, as the nominated European Capital of Culture for 2008, Liverpool requires more, not fewer, transport links of all types with all parts of the country and the world; and calls upon the Government in conjunction with the relevant train operators to arrest this erosion of train services to and from Liverpool.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
