Restoration Of St Pauls Cathedral

EDM number 1485 in 2002-03, proposed by Mark Field on 30/06/2003.

That this House congratulates St. Paul's Cathedral on completing the first phase of its ú40 million restoration campaign to mark the 300th anniversary of the completion of Wren's masterpiece; welcomes the start of the second phase which will be the external cleaning of the West Front; congratulates the Cathedral on its plans to give the public access for the first time to some of its hidden treasures, including the library; and acknowledges the important role the Cathedral plays in the life of the nation.
