Scottish Grand Committee

EDM number 1482 in 2002-03, proposed by Peter Duncan on 26/06/2003.

That this House notes that the Scottish Grand Committee has now not met for over four months; believes that such a forum would provide an opportunity to scrutinise Government handling of the Scottish economy which has contracted during every month since the last Committee, we well as the chaotic handling of changes at the Scotland Office and the creation of a part-time Secretary of State for Scotland; and demands that an early date is found for the Committee to sit before the summer recess to avoid accusations that the Government wishes to avoid debate on these important issues.
