Smacking By Childminders

EDM number 1343 in 2002-03, proposed by Geraint Davies on 04/06/2003.

That this House welcomes the review of National Childminding and Daycare Standards; supports the Government proposal that childminders will not be able to smack children in their care from September 2003; and calls for legislation, rather than guidance, to enforce this change.
