That this House welcomes the announcement by Her Majesty's Government that a statutory responsibility is to be placed on the Civil Aviation Authority for aviation health at the first available legislative opportunity; recognises this as a positive response to the report of the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology into Air Travel and Health and the campaigning work of the Victims of Air related Deep Vein Thrombosis; and acknowledges that this will mark an important step on the raod to discovering the full extent, incidence and cause of deep vein thrombosis in air travellers.
