Third And Fourth Generation Mobile Telephony

EDM number 1285 in 2002-03, proposed by Derek Wyatt on 22/05/2003.

That this House notes that MMO2 has announced the writing off of ú6 billion of debt incurred when bidding for a UK 3G licence three years ago; and calls on the Government to roll 3G licences into 4G licences using the same bandwidth to enable carriers to offer a more attractive broadband platform and give the UK a global competitive edge, and end the current 2G versus 2.5G and 3G stalemate.

This motion has been signed by a total of 2 MPs.
