Wales Office

EDM number 1276 in 2002-03, proposed by Elfyn Llwyd on 21/05/2003.

That this House notes that the Wales Office could shortly be merged with another government department; further notes that the Wales Office Annual Report failed to inspire confidence in honourable Members that the Department is making a good case to prevent any merger; believes that the Wales Office is vital to the success and effectiveness of the devolution settlement and that the Welsh Assembly Government is dependent on a co-operative and productive Wales Office to promote its policies, legislative requirements and objectives in London; and urges the Secretary of State for Wales to do his utmost to secure his position and that of the future of the Department until the establishment of a Parliament for Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 4 MPs.
