Who Cares Campaign

EDM number 1093 in 2002-03, proposed by Huw Irranca-Davies on 28/04/2003.

That this House welcomes the Electoral Commission's Who Cares? campaign in Wales and Scotland aiming to raise awareness and turnout for the 2003 elections to the Welsh Assembly Government and the Scottish Parliament (and also the English local elections) by highlighting rolling registration, postal voting and finally a call to vote; and notes that this campaign, which includes sending a voting guide to every household in Wales and Scotland, represents a commendable use of public funds as it encourages participation in the electoral process and thereby promotes democracy in Wales and Scotland at an important time for the devolved institutions.
