Hungarian Vote To Join The Eu

EDM number 1073 in 2002-03, proposed by Wayne David on 14/04/2003.

That this House welcomes the recent vote in the Hungarian referendum in favour of joining the European Union; notes that this vote follows the positive votes in Slovenia and Malta to join the EU; looks forward to similar yes votes in the other accession countries so that in 2004 the EU may be enlarged to 25 member states; and believes that such a union of people and nations can only enhance Europe's prospects of maintaining peace and increasing economic prosperity.
