Mutuality And Britannia Building Society

EDM number 950 in 2001-02, proposed by Joan Walley on 06/03/2002.

That this House welcomes the fact that every year the Britannia Building Society contributes over ú40 million to North Staffordshire and the surrounding areas' economy through wages, local suppliers and charitable donations; notes that Britannia achieved its best ever results for the year 2001 by selling more mortgages than ever; commends Britannia for returning more money to its members through its members loyalty bonus scheme than ever; and further notes that these results demonstrate that mutual ownership remains a viable and successful model.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
