ST GEORGE'S DAY CELEBRATIONS IN LONDON

EDM number 936 in 2001-02, proposed by David Burnside on 05/03/2002.

That this House condemns the decision of Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, to allocate ú100,000 to celebrate St Patrick's Day after refusing to organise a celebration for St George's Day; and calls on the Mayor of London to establish parity of esteem for Englishmen and women by allocating an equal amount of ú100,000 for Londoners to celebrate St George's Day on 23rd April.
