KING'S DOCK DEVELOPMENT, LIVERPOOL
EDM number 923 in 2001-02, proposed by Peter Kilfoyle on 04/03/2002.
That this House supports the imaginative proposals to develop the Kings's Dock, Liverpool, including a new stadium for Everton FC; but also expresses concern at the Liverpool City Council plan to divert E35 million of European structural funds to facilitate the project; notes that the money would be lost to Merseyside if the project does not proceed; and questions whether this particular use of public funds, under the criteria for Objective One, is the most appropriate one for the wider interests of the people of Merseyside.
This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
