Party Ratings And Scottish Parliament Election;amdt. Line 1:
EDM number 835A1 in 2001-02, proposed by John Robertson on 13/02/2002.
leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that the SNP have a long record of political self delusion when it comes to over-reacting to opinion polls; notes the reaction of the SNP Leader John Swinney, commenting on System Three Poll of 5th March 2001, 'The SNP stand for Scotland, and are on course to win more votes and seats come the General Election' and commenting on System Three Poll of 2nd April 2001, 'This poll shows that SNP support is higher and stronger now than it was at the last General Election, which means that the SNP are on course to gain new ground on top of our existing Westminster seats, Liberal Democrat seats, in particular, are very vulnerable to an SNP challenge'; and further notes that the SNP's election failure at that and every Scotland-wide election in their entire history will be repeated at next year's Scottish Parliament elections.'.
This is a ammendment to 835.
