Scottish Representation On The Convention On The Future Of The European Union
EDM number 830 in 2001-02, proposed by Angus Robertson on 07/02/2002.
That this House welcomes the election of two Scottish representatives to the Convention on the future of the European Union, Sir Professor Neil McCormick MEP and the leader of Clackmannanshire Council, Councillor Keith Brown; notes with regret that there is no Scottish Executive representation through either the delegations of the UK Parliament or the Committee of the Regions; recognises that the Scottish Labour Party, Scottish Liberal Democrats and the Scottish Conservatives have not secured places on the Convention with elected representatives; and wishes both Scottish National Party representatives success in securing optimal reforms to the European Union which will be good for Scotland and the EU as a whole.
